The whole package is great in every way, although some themes may need to have their titles corrected and edited. The alternate Jukebox menu from Kirby Star Allies, which can appear after obtaining The Three Mage-Sisters as a Dream Friend. Returning themes are again, great, but they have introduced me to some other amazing Kirby OSTs, like Blowout Blast's shockingly amazing OST. It's clear that some of the OST's bests are original themes that include some elements of older themes, like the theme of Heroes in Another Dimension and Astral Birth Void's theme. The original themes in general seem to be good at worst and amazing at best, although the stage themes often fail to be very memorable. ![]() The highlights of the remixes are clearly Morpho Knight's themes and the Celebration Picture themes. It's a shame that there seems to be no main connecting theme like Sun, Sky, Dreamstalk or The Noble Haltmann, but that just opened up the door for remixes of more obscure Kirby songs like the Casting theme from KD元, Yearning for Yellow (Vroom!), and even the theme of Kirby GCN. The originals definitely have their own style compared to the other modern Kirby games, and while it's not as distinct as Planet Robobot (obviously), the increased variety of instruments gives so many songs their own unique flair. I'm sure that some would say that it's a bit bloated, but getting so many great Kirby tracks in such high quality is totally worth it. I think it's great that so many tracks made it in, even those that aren't KSA originals. This soundtrack is absolutely mholy cowive. ![]() These battles are broken up halfway through and at the end, by boss battles which are new to the Deluxe version of Fighters. A series of battles fought one after the other, with ever increasing difficulty. ![]() The single player mode of Fighters Deluxe is about as basic as you can get. There are twelve abilities to play around with, though two of them are only unlocked if you also own Kirby Triple Deluxe. It’ll give you an edge in multiplayer, and is near essential in the harder difficulties of single player mode. While you can absolutely just mash attack and do well enough, there is reward for players who check out each ability’s movelist and experiment a bit, and Fighters Deluxe definitely gives you a more compelling reason to explore the varied moves of each ability than Triple Deluxe. These powers all have their own hats, and a surprisingly diverse moveset to play around with. Rather than giving players choice of characters to use, each player can choose a specific Kirby power. Fighters takes up to four players, and tasks them with beating each other up with special abilities until only the victor is left standing. As a standalone game though, Fighters Deluxe feels half baked.Īt first glance Kirby Fighters Deluxe looks to borrow a lot from Super Smash Bros, and this isn’t entirely untrue. In Triple Deluxe, Fighters worked well as a neat little distraction to play when you wanted a quick break from the standard Kirby platforming gameplay of the main game. Kirby Fighters Deluxe is an expansion of sorts, of the Kirby Fighters mini game found in Kirby Triple Deluxe. It sure looks like Smash Bros entirely populated by Kirbies, but that’s not quite it. |
